Interesting Facts About TMNT
1) Original Start Date of the Comic was May 1984
2) Concept was conceived by Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird
3) Their Inspiration was from the work of Frank Miller & Jack Kirby
4) "Splinter" is the Ninja Master for the TMNT's. He was a human, named Hamato Yoshi, who mutated to Rat. Hamato was betrayed by his student, Oroku Saki, who later became known as "The Shredder." In the original comics series, "Splinter" was the name of the pet rat of Hamato Yoshi. He was not "Splinter" in the comics, but was "Splinter" in the cartoons.
5) Rocksteady & Bebop, the villains in the cartoon were never shown in comic form. They were created for the cartoon show.
6) In the comics, all four turtles wore red bandanas. In the cartoon, Leonardo wore blue, Donatello purple, Michelangelo orange, & Raphael red.
